DrugRehabCharlotte.org today announced the launch of its flagship website, which provides information on substance use disorder and various types of addiction treatment services for residents of Charlotte, NC and the surrounding areas.
Last February it was reported that overdoses claimed the lives of as many as 16 North Carolina residents per 100,000 in 2014, compared to about 9 people per 100,000 in 2012. State officials said that overdoses caused more deaths in the state of North Carolina than car crashes or guns.
Roughly 229,000 individuals 12 and older per year in 2013-2014 in North Carolina were dependent on or abused illicit drugs within the year prior to being surveyed, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
