Kevin Lamont, a U.S. Army veteran, personal trainer and former football and track coach with a Master’s Degree in Exercise and Sport Science Sports Administration Option, has completed his new book “The Faith of Health and Fitness”: a thought-provoking and Scripture-based thesis suggesting that an imperfect relationship with God can have real physical consequences, and that the path to a healthier body begins with a healthier spiritual connection with Him.
“The purpose of this book is to provide scriptural evidence to support my belief that if any person chooses to obey the commandments of God seen in the Holy Bible and allow the Spirit of God’s Word to be their life compass, that they will have healthier bodies because of it. Specifically, I am saying if a person chooses to follow the commandments and precepts in the Old and New Testament and allow the Spirit of God’s Word to guide their lives, they will be physically healthier. By “guide their lives,” I am talking about everyday living—from what they eat to how and what they think about, what they choose to watch on television, music they listen to, and how they interact with people. This is not to say God will necessarily take away any sicknesses or ailments, though He can, and it is my prayer for those in need that He does. My position is that, if a person chooses to follow His commandments that they will have healthier bodies based on the scripture that I am seeking to interpret seen in this book.”
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Kevin Lamont’s intriguing ideas are reinforced by many verses drawn from the Bible.
