There are an estimated 6,000 children who have lost a parent in Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, and if they choose to attend college, they are eligible for the Freedom Alliance scholarship.

Freedom Alliance, an organization supporting our nation’s military and injured service members, is encouraging students to apply for their Scholarship Fund which provides assistance to meet the costs of a college education while honoring the sacrifices made by their parents in the service of our country. Since 2003, Freedom Alliance has awarded $11 million in educational assistance to nearly 1,000 children of our military heroes killed in action or permanently disabled in a combat mission or training accident.

In preparation to commemorate Memorial Day, Freedom Alliance wants to convey to all the children who had a parent sacrifice their life for our country in military service, there is help to pay your college tuition.

“Though we cannot truly repay the selfless sacrifice to the country by service members and their families, at the least it is possible to help ensure the children of our country’s fallen heroes have the opportunity to pursue a higher education,” explained the organization’s President, Tom Kilgannon. “The sons and daughters who qualify for the scholarship have made tremendous sacrifices for our nation but they still have hopes and dreams and we are honored to help achieve them; this is what the Freedom Alliance Scholarship is all about.”
