On April 12, 2017, the ADL xAPI Conformance test was released, marking a milestone in standardizing xAPI technology. Riptide Storepoints product is one of the first xAPI-conformant LRS’s in the world. The ADL released the xAPI specification on April 26, 2013 with adoption pledged by over 30 vendors. Riptide represents one of those vendors and is listed as part of the Working Group Contributors that created xAPI. The team is actively engaged in continuing to innovate their products with the technology, as well as educating Learning and Development leaders on the benefits of xAPI at conferences Nationwide.
The xAPI LRS Conformance Requirements and LRS Conformance Test Suite covers over 1,300 strict criteria that ensures true adoption of the xAPI Specification. By using the LRS conformance test, vendors and other LRS users can validate and verify that their LRS is functioning properly and that the LRS data will be interoperable across the learning ecosystem. Phil Loeffel, CEO, quotes: “We congratulate our engineering team for their diligence in ensuring our LRS is fully xAPI conformant and their work in leading the way in xAPI technology.”
Riptide uses xAPI technology in their full line of Elements products: Storepoints - learning record store, Waypoints - in-line software training, and Learnpoints - adaptive learning courseware. Storepoints is an LRS that is part of the Riptide Elements product-line. The Storepoints LRS allows for a range of features including adaptive learning, data visualizations, microlearning, and much more.
