John Q. Kelly weighs in on latest developments in Trump-Russia probe.

John Q. Kelly, Esq.

I don’t know how they’ve taken this quantum leap…from contemporaneous notes…reflecting somewhat on what was said as opposed to fact that can’t even be challenged.

John Q. Kelly, Esq. joins MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle to discuss issues surrounding the Trump-Russia probe including whether contemporaneous notes such as the Comey memo constitute credible evidence, the question of obstruction of justice by Trump and whether Trump’s statement to Comey re: Flynn could constitute an impeachable offense.

When asked how he would advise Trump if he were inside his inner circle, with the appointment of special counsel, Mr. Kelly responded that he would tell Trump and his staff that they “have to keep their eyes on the details”. Reflecting on the much talked about Comey memo, Kelly stated that “this whole thing about contemporaneous notes that are credible evidence… that’s not the case…the memo is nothing…its one factor that can be used to assess the credibility of the sworn testimony of the witnesses.” Kelly further cautioned that “contemporaneous notes can be self-serving, they can be factually inaccurate, they can be false, they can be colored by political leanings...they are just one factor to be considered.” Kelly also noted, “I don’t know how they’ve taken this quantum leap…from contemporaneous notes…reflecting somewhat on what was said as opposed to fact that can’t even be challenged.”
