Space Coast Credit Union Donates $25,000 to Hurricane Harvey Relief
Melbourne, FL (PRWEB) September 06, 2017 -- Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU) has announced that they will donate $25,000 immediately to The American Red Cross to support Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. The credit union has also set up accounts to accept member donations, which will be sent to The American Red Cross.
“This is one of the worst natural disasters in our nation’s history, and our thoughts and prayers are with Texas,” said Timothy M. Antonition, SCCU president and chief executive officer. “People helping people is a core principle of credit unions, and we felt compelled to contribute to the hurricane relief efforts. It is the right thing to do.”
To make a donation, members can go to any of SCCU’s 58 branch locations in Brevard, Volusia, Flagler, Indian River, Broward, or Miami-Dade Counties, or call the Member Service Center to donate.
In addition to its fund raising efforts, SCCU has identified a dozen of its own members with auto and home loans who live in hurricane-affected areas. Antonition stated, “We are attempting to contact our members in the affected region to determine what assistance they may need. It is going to take a long time to recover from Harvey’s damage.”
