Interjet Airlines announced it is rolling out a major promotional effort in partnership with the World Boxing Council (WBC) leading up to the highly anticipated unified middleweight title clash, Saturday, September 16, 2017, between Saúl 'Canelo' Álvarez and Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin.
“The World Boxing Council is a major sports institution with great values, and transcends professionalism on a global scale,” said Andrés Martinez, Interjet’s Director of Marketing and Public Relations. "Interjet has great respect for the integrity and core values that the WBC has maintained for more than 50 years, and we’re excited to be partnering with them in what is being billed as the biggest fight of 2017," Martinez said.
The unified title fight will take place in Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena. The undefeated Golovkin, is the current WBC/IBO/IBF/WBA Middleweight World Champion with an impressive (37-0) record. Alvarez, the former titleholder, enters the fight with a record of (49-1-1) and is seeking to win the title on Mexican Independence Day Weekend.
Interjet is launching several promotions and contests on its social media channels, where people have the chance to register to enter to win an array of prizes, from mini-championship fight belts to boxing memorabilia such as Álvarez and Golovkin autographed boxing gloves.
"We are very grateful to Interjet not only for actively promoting boxing in Mexico and the United States but also for going a step further and providing a tangible benefit to boxing," said Mauricio Sulaimán, president of the World Boxing Council. "It’s no surprise the best airline in Mexico, is the official airline of the WBC," Sulaimán added.
Interjet has convenient daily flights from Las Vegas, NV, to Mexico City and Guadalajara and offers business and leisure travelers to and from Mexico, a unique brand of lower prices with free checked bags on select fares, more legroom between seats, female only lavatories and great service that has been embraced everywhere they fly. For these reasons and more, Interjet has been named a TripAdvisor 2017 Travelers' Choice Winner as Best Mexican Airline.
