We recognize the tremendous importance of professionals who truly understand vascular health.
Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) September 20, 2017
The Ultimate Vein Guide is pleased to announce three upcoming $500 scholarships for Vascular Ultrasound students at Rush University in Chicago, Illinois. The Vascular Ultrasound and Technology Bachelor of Science degree is an accredited program that provides students with the educational background they need to become a vascular sonographer.
Vascular sonographers work to diagnosis and treat patients with disorders of both the arteries and the veins, including everything from atherosclerosis to blood clots and aneurysms. People in this line of work play a key role in patient health as they are responsible for performing tests to determine vascular health by using ultrasounds and also analyzing data and images. This critical data is then passed on to physicians for interpretation and potential treatment.
Students in Rush University’s Vascular Ultrasound and Technology BS degree program are taught by both physicians and sonographers over a period of 21 months. Students receive classroom instruction and firsthand learning by performing vascular examinations under the direction of credentialed and experienced vascular sonographers.
Theultimateveinguide.com Founder Ken Langworthy, RVT, was formerly a clinical instructor for the program and served as the Vascular Lab Manager at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. Langworthy pointed out, “When it comes to Rush University’s Vascular Ultrasound and Technology program, I know how well the program is run and the quality students it puts out. We recognize the tremendous importance of professionals who truly understand vascular health. After seeing some inferior vascular and vein practices out there, we would like to reward those who are creating a better vascular ultrasound future.”
Those interested in applying for The Ultimate Vein Guide’s Vascular Ultrasound and Technology Degree Scholarship should be a student in good academic standing in their clinical year at Rush University’s Vascular Ultrasound Program. Applicants should submit a one-page double spaced essay on the topic of how they can contribute to creating a better vascular ultrasound future. This essay should be submitted before the end of the clinical year along with the application form and references from two clinical instructors.
