"The entire Venture family is committed to supporting research and advancement of ALS treatments and patient care,” says Stephen Shanton, president and CEO of Venture Construction Group of Florida.

Venture Construction Group of Florida (VCGFL) kicks off their annual ALS giving campaign by sponsoring a number of fundraising events throughout Florida. The Walk to Defeat ALS® brings community members of all ages and athletic abilities together to honor a loved one with the disease, to remember those who’ve passed and to show their support for the cause. Each year, more than 10 walks take place in communities across the state of Florida. The Walk to Defeat ALS is The ALS Association’s largest annual event, which raises funds that allow local chapters to sustain care services and support research for much of the next year. The ALS Association Florida Chapter aims to discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest. “Being part of the fight to cure ALS is extremely important. Supporting the amazing people with the ALS Association is part of that fight. ALS took my father from me, but the fight and passion of which he fought to live was inspiring. My father’s last life lesson to me was that no matter what, don’t give up and don’t ever stop fighting. The entire Venture family is committed to supporting research and advancement of ALS treatments and patient care,” says Stephen Shanton, president and CEO of Venture Construction Group of Florida.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often called Lou Gehrig's disease, is a motor neuron disease. The ALS Association’s TREAT ALS™ research program fuels global collaboration to expedite the discovery of treatments and a cure.

“ALS Association-funded scientists are currently active in more than 11 countries around the world. We are grateful for our donors who make this global approach possible, getting us closer to our ultimate goal, a world without ALS,” says Barbara Newhouse, president and CEO, The ALS Association.

VCGFL is committed to giving back. A fierce advocate for ALS research, VCGFL is sponsoring numerous Walk to Defeat ALS events throughout the state including the Miami-Dade Walk to Defeat ALS in Miami on Oct. 21, 2017; the Southwest Florida Walk to Defeat ALS in Estero on Oct. 28, 2017; the Palm Beach Walk to Defeat ALS in West Palm Beach on March 17, 2018; the Central Florida Walk to Defeat ALS at Lake Eola in Orlando on March 24, 2018; the Broward Walk to Defeat ALS in Davie on April 14, 2018.
