PITTSBURGH…Commercial truck drivers, who live in their vehicles for extended periods of time face the challenge of storing their food, clothing and other necessities in a limited space. That’s exactly why an inventor from West Jordan, Utah, who is also a driver, came up with the perfect solution.
She developed TRUCK CUBBY to provide additional storage space in the bunk area of a semi-truck to keep belongings and personal items protected, organized and separated. Furthermore, it is designed for easy access whether the upper bunk is up or down. Therefore, it helps reduce driver stress and frustration. At the same time, it is attractive, sturdy and easy to use. Other appealing features are its convenience, effectiveness and affordable price. In addition, its simple design minimizes production costs. It also works with trucks without sleepers and lightweight trucks.
The inventor’s work experience inspired the idea. “I’m a truck driver and have always needed more storage space in the bunk area of my vehicle,” she said. “So I decided to invent something that would meet that need but not take up much space itself.”
The original design was submitted to the Salt Lake City office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
