Debtzilla Kickstarter Funded in 30hrs After Relaunch

Secret identity superhero cooperative boardgame: Debtzilla is relaunched successfully on Kickstarter and is funded within 30hrs after cancellation of the project 2 months ago.

Debtzilla is a great game and I would like to see more people make games like this. The idea of playing a fun game and learning at the same time is something that I love, especially as Debtzilla does it so effortlessly and in a way that makes you learn without the realization of it.

CGS previously launched Debtzilla on 19 September and subsequently cancelled the campaign midway in response to backer feedback in order to enhance on the winning principles of the product is forced after 19th day of their 30 days campaign. The team revamped their product offerings and the new Kickstarter is relaunched on 7 November with a higher pledge goal of $10,888 as compared to $10,000 for the previous campaign. Some of the value-added enhancement to the re-launch includes adding new art and content which improves the immersive feel and theme of the project. New playing modes were also added to include kids friendly rules which encourage family participations in the crusade against Debtzilla.

Inspired by Superheroes related theme whereby heroes with secret identity confront monsters of mass destruction, Debtzilla is expected to be delivered to backers in Q3 of 2018. This is also CGS’s third board game with a financial theme.

Debtzilla is set up in the fictional nation of Banana Republic, last seen in CGS’s previous game – Wongamania: Banana Economy. Banana Republic’s incompetent government has now caused a wave of financial crime. Players will get to take on the role of heroes and work together with friends and family, to defeat villains who are rampantly scamming from ordinary citizens and confront their final boss: Debtzilla.

Debtzilla is a cooperative board game for 2-4 players and plays for 60-90mins. Debtzilla unique theme features a smash up of political, business and financial leaders with popular culture icons. For example, Tweetman is a smash-up of Donald Trump and Batman and is portrayed as a powerful anti-hero in the game, where he “borrows” money from citizens to gain the necessary power to defeat Debtzilla.

The game received high praise from international board game reviewers for it’s artwork, theme and game mechanics. Australian Tabletop Gaming Network has this to say, “Debtzilla is a great game and I would like to see more people make games like this. Debtzilla’s Kickstarter campaign is live from now to 7 December 2017. A prototype of Debtzilla is on display at We The People store at Millennia Walk, Singapore.
