BrightStar Care of San Luis Obispo partners with satisfaction research firm Home Care Pulse to enhance its care services and employee contentment.

BrightStar Care of San Luis Obispo, a home care agency that also provides medical staffing solutions, recently partnered with Home Care Pulse, a third-party satisfaction research firm, to continually gather feedback from its clients and employees through short telephone interviews. The goal of this partnership is to help BrightStar Care of San Luis Obispo ensure its clients and employees are satisfied with the services it is providing and the company its employees work in.

“We are committed to providing the best care for our clients, that’s why we have family members of our clients receive a call from Home Care Pulse who are asked to provide ratings and feedback,” said Mechell Vieira, president and owner of BrightStar Care of San Luis Obispo. “Depending on your responses, the call takes between 7-9 minutes and the following number guide -- 9-10: Very Satisfied; 7-8: Needs Improvement; 1-6: Very Dissatisfied is used to provide the ratings to a number of questions about the services BrightStar provides. The employees use a similar system and both the client or the employee can remain anonymous if they desire.”

BrightStar of San Luis Obispo takes this feedback very seriously and uses it to help guide improvements to care services. The October survey results from Home Care Pulse show that BrightStar of San Luis Obispo’s level of satisfaction from its clients is proof of its quality. Its clients rated caregivers’ work ethic at a 92.1%. “This is a wonderful reflection of the type of employees we are hiring and the high level of service we promise our clients,” added Vieira. “This also indicated some areas of improvement to get this number even closer to the golden 100% satisfaction.”

The ability of its caregivers was rated at 92.6%. This number indicates BrightStar of San Luis Obispo is doing a great job with the difficult task of matching caregivers with the level of care requested or needed by clients. The Compassion of Caregivers was rated at an impressive 94.5%.

The second component of the survey was for employees. In this category the results were strong, but also showed Vieira that BrightStar Care of San Luis Obispo’s level of communication needed some attention. “While most of our caregivers reported enjoying their jobs at BrightStar, there was a lower-than-expected number for communication, which I believe is due to the dwindling pool of qualified caregivers,” concluded Vieira.
