Consort Display Group, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, celebrates the start of thirty-five years in business with the publication of its new 72-page catalog. What began as a street banner design and print shop in 1983, has now expanded to a total of seven pioneering, proprietary brands and product lines, all manufactured at the facilities in Kalamazoo.

Founded in 1983 by architect Roger Lepley, AIA, Consort began as Kalamazoo Banner Work (KBW). At the time, KBW was one of the first companies to design and print vertical banners for light poles, now seen in virtually every city. The manufacture of innovative specialty banner bracket hardware soon followed, and is now sold globally. The initial target market included municipalities and shopping areas to attract attention, welcome and enhance downtowns and shopping venues. As demand for environmental graphics grew across North America, so did the number of product lines. Consort Display Group uses contemporary advancements in materials and computer design technologies to continue to add to and improve each product, resulting in well-tested, displays for both exterior and interior use. Because of ongoing performance testing, Consort offers 12-year warranties on the exterior hardware products.

Consort continues to evolve and grow, with the brands and product lines ever expanding, and therefore the company’s catalog has expanded in turn. After working on the new and updated catalog for a full year, Consort has released the in-depth publication that outlines all of the product lines, both stock and custom. From light pole banners and banner bracket hardware, to colorful pennant flags, tabletop menu displays, and retail shelving and displays, Consort is a full-service manufacturer with CNC and waterjet technology among the stable of processes in-house. The company sells into both business and institutional markets as well as directly to the home consumer. The new catalog, available online, shows the growth and evolution of the company’s creative path.
