The owner was so hesitant to trust anyone with the remodel so the home sat gutted for years until he found the right contractor.

MyHome, the Manhattan-based renovation company, recently completed a total apartment renovation in the Galleria Building at 117 East 57th Street in Manhattan. The project was designed by MyHome Remodeling Consultant, Lior Noy. Noy and his team were tasked with completely transforming a gutted studio apartment into a soft and contemporary design that has a light, roomy, and open feel.

A quick look at the 55-story building explains why the Galleria has been called one of the finest luxury condominium buildings in Manhattan. Residents enjoy living in New York's fabulous Midtown East neighborhood and the homes at the Galleria boast spectacular views.

There were a few hurdles for Noy and his team going into this remodel. The homeowner was hesitant to trust anyone with the apartment renovation. As a result, the home sat gutted for years until he found MyHome Design + Remodeling. Once MyHome was given the green light, Noy and his team were faced with designing the layout of the kitchen and bathroom. This was a challenge as they didn't have the option to move the plumbing and walls. Another obstacle was assembling fully custom cabinets using a semi-custom cabinet manufacturer, as the homeowner wanted the same finish to be on all the woodwork in the apartment.

The contractor made it happen with cabinets made by Hanssem America, and finished with Alpine stain on maple wood doors. High-end Hans Grohe shower system and faucets were installed in the bathroom and kitchen. To create a pristine light and contemporary look the homeowner wanted, Noy chose a beautiful porcelain tile and white Caesarstone countertops Thanks to the simplicity of the design and the selection of finishing materials, what began as a small studio apartment is now open and spacious.
