Moreno Ranches is announcing new sale opportunities for dehorned Brahman cattle for sale in Texas and Florida. Now with locations in two states, the Ranch is making a superior type of cattle more easily available.

Moreno Ranches, a top producer of Brahman cattle for sale throughout the United States, is proud to announce new sale opportunities for so-called "dehorned" or "polled" Brahman cattle for sale in Texas as well as Florida. While these imposing Brahman cattle are gentle by nature, they have been modified for better handling and preparation.

According to Kelvin Moreno, head of Moreno Ranches, “Small details make a big difference in handling cattle. A small detail like dehorning calves goes a long way in enhancing the docile nature of Brahman cattle, making the cattle easier to handle as they mature and helping to prevent injury from one animal to another in a pasture, and minimizing the risk of injury to a teammate."

LOCATIONS IN BOTH FLORIDA AND TEXAS

With locations in both Florida and Texas, two leading states in the Brahman cattle, the Ranch is announcing new sales opportunities at both locations for "dehorned" or "polled" Brahman cattle. Persons interested in visiting the Ranches to see live cattle are encouraged first to visit the website at http://www.morenoranches.com/contact-us/ (Florida Ranch) or http://www.morenoranches.com/contact-us-texas/ (Texas Ranch). Ranch tours can be requested by clicking on "Ranch Tours" in the website navigation or just calling into the Ranch. BACKGROUND ON DEHORNED BRAHMAN CATTLE

Dehorning cattle, including Brahman cattle, has become a necessary practice among ranchers because it can substantially decrease the amount of risk of animal-to-animal injury, as well as work injuries. These animals also have a higher monetary value and are much easier to transport from one facility to another. Cattle should be dehorned as early as possible because calves tend to have a quicker recovery and less pain since, for the first few months of life, calf horn buds are only floating and haven’t yet “rooted.” Having floating horn buds means the bud horns have not established a blood supply and therefore are not prone to blood loss, wounds and infections during dehorning.
