Plant-based pharmaceuticals can be just as effective as synthetic pharmaceuticals toward treating certain conditions. In fact, many countries treat phytotherapeutic products as licensed medicines.

Health and wellness supplement company El Naturalista attended January’s ECRM® EPPS event in Washington, D.C. where it showcased its line of all-natural remedies based in phytotherapy to some of the biggest retail chains in the United States.
Phytotherapy works seamlessly in conjunction with traditional medicine to help battle things like nervous disorders, joint, prostate and digestive problems, respiratory allergies and many other common maladies. Medicinal herbs used in products stem from research of traditional knowledge and clinical trials blended together.
The Vitamin, Weight Management and Sports Nutrition Efficient Program Planning Sessions (EPPS) is a trade show where vitamin, diet and supplement companies like El Naturalista, based in Spain, were able to network with major retail buyers in private sessions and show off their products. EPPS has the potential to grow the brand recognition of El Naturalista, letting people learn about its line of plant-based pharmaceutical products.
“Events like ECRM® help bring phytotherapy, or plant-based medicine, into the mainstream at pharmacy and drug stores around the U.S.,” El Naturalista President Ruben Calvo said. “We’re hoping the relationships we made over those few days transform into strong partnerships, with our products on store shelves all over the U.S. and the world.
“Retail stores are looking for safer alternatives to OTC drugs they’re selling. Plant-based pharmaceuticals can be just as effective as synthetic pharmaceuticals toward treating certain conditions. In fact, many countries treat phytotherapeutic products as licensed medicines. However, plants lack many of the nasty side effects one might find in a pill filled with synthetic chemicals.”
EPPS is a branch of the Efficient Collaborative Retail Marketing (ECRM®) event series that was held Jan. 7-11 at the Hilton Washington in Washington, D.C. Brands were able to have direct discussions with retailers and other brands about business objectives like product launches, marketing campaigns and more. Some of the major retailers included Amazon.com, Costco, CVS, GNC, Harris Teeter, LuckyVitamin.com, Meijer, Sam’s Club, The Fresh Market, Vitamin Shoppe, Walgreens, Whole Foods and more.
El Naturalista’s products include medicinal plants, weight-control capsules, infusions, skin care, natural cosmetics and more. Its “Natures” line includes Chitosan 500, Digestnatur, Muconatur, Tranquinatur and Venatur.
