Beach House Shake comes with an industry leading fifty-year “Performance Plus” warranty and will look as good as the day it was installed years later-- but with no worries and no upkeep.--Ralph Bruno, CEO, Derby Building Products

Derby Building Products launched Beach House Shake™ created by Tando in two new colors at the International Builders Show in Orlando, FL, Jan 9 – 11, 2018. Following a successful regional introduction in spring of 2017, Beach House Shake will now be available throughout North America through the Tando distribution network. As part of this expansion, Beach House Shake is now available in two additional colors: Hatteras is a mid-tone gray that emulates weathered white cedar, while Pacifica has the appeal of brand new western red cedar.

These colors join the initial color, Sandcastle, that has the look of freshly installed white cedar. All Beach House Shake colors are indistinguishable from real cedar with natural, subtle variations, grains and saw-cuts. They represent an architectural style and a lifestyle statement on a national scale that contractors and homeowners look for in a cedar product.

Whereas real cedar shakes will curl, crack, split and are subject to rot and decay form moisture, insects and the environment, Beach House Shake requires no upkeep and will not deteriorate. Impervious to moisture, it can be used at the roofline or ground level without issues.

“Beach House Shake comes with an industry leading fifty-year “Performance Plus” warranty and will look as good as the day it was installed years later-- but with no worries and no upkeep,” said Ralph Bruno, CEO, Derby Building Products. “With unmatched realism, every shake is as unique as a fingerprint, with a varied texture and no repeated patterns,” he said.

Designed for pro contractors and builders, Beach House Shake evokes the relaxed, easy feeling of a beach house, giving homeowners a permanent “vacation” from the hassles and upkeep of cedar. The product also amazingly stood up to Hurricane Irma’s 100-mile per hour winds at Derby’s Miami plant test wall, without losing a single shake. It features an authentic five-inch reveal, is lightweight and
available in one-course panels that can be installed by one person using regular woodworking tools and a nail gun.

Beach House Shake can be used on an entire exterior or can tap into the new trend toward mixed materials as a gable or dormer accent. “Beach House Shake can complement any siding, engineered lumber, fiber cement or stucco, along with stone, veneer or our TandoStone as the foundation cladding,” adds Bruno.
