We are really excited to start the new year opening a Boston office and to be helping people across the city and Massachusetts communicate more easily
BOSTON (PRWEB UK) 24 January 2018
Global translation and interpretation service provider thebigword is opening a new office in Boston as part of a project to provide better language services to businesses and organizations across the region.
As the number one US city for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the state with the highest GDP per Capita, Boston is an attractive place to do business and thebigword is eager to explore the countless opportunities that the city offers the company.
The expansion coincides with a new push by Massachusetts Higher Education Consortium (MHEC) who have recruited thebigword to deliver language services such as translation and interpreting – to help public service users with English as a second language better communicate with schools, hospitals, libraries and other public sector organizations.
MHEC commissions services for over 500 organizations in New England including Schools, Colleges, Universities, Municipalities and Health Care providers. With over 37% of Boston residents speaking a language other than English at home, it’s hoped that better interpreting and translation services will save many thousands in lost man-hours and money, helping to improve public services.
thebigword already has a decade of experience supporting educational translation and interpretation services for over 1800 public schools across America and, closer to home, works with Worcester Public Schools in Massachusetts and several Boston-based multinational companies.
Executive Vice President, Americas & Asia Diane McAveeney said: “I am enthusiastic with the experienced team and office expansion. As a native of Boston, there is a growing need for language services throughout the Region particularly in education. We look forward to working with schools and universities as well as hospitals, municipalities and businesses to deliver quality translation and interpretation services that they require.”
Joshua Gould, CEO of thebigword Inc., said: “We are really excited to start the new year opening a Boston office and to be helping people across the city and Massachusetts communicate more easily. Working with MHEC and Worcester Public Schools has shown how strong we are in our educational translation and interpretation services platform – but more importantly what a huge difference it can make for a parent unsure what’s happening at school or a doctor who needs to explain treatment options to a patient.”
“Our people are committed to making that difference every day and I know that the people of Boston will reap the rewards.”
thebigword’s Boston office is located at Waltham Centre, 303 Wyman Street, Suite 300, Waltham, 02451-1208, USA.
