Local media outlets are encouraged to attend this philanthropic event to see community, humanity, local business leaders, and children working together to make a difference. The event is being held at the Lake Anne room at Reston Community Center, Feb. 9th 6 pm – 9 pm.

“We decided on an event in which I could invite clients, co-workers, kids, friends, and family,” says author Kerry Wekelo. Cornerstones is a nonprofit organization that she has supported for over 10 years. They promote self-sufficiency by providing support and advocacy for those in need of food, shelter, affordable housing, quality childcare, and other human services.

True to form, Kerry is following one of her own principals found in her book Culture Infusion: 9 Principles to Creating and Maintaining a Thriving Organizational Culture. Principal 9 is all about encouraging team connections by participating in activities that are fun and meaningful. Leaders and their teams work together to create a culture of wellness infused with cause-related activities.

“At Actualize, we encourage employees to participate in activities that support social causes. We believe in sharing our success by giving back in ways that are truly helpful to our local community, and our employees value and look forward to those experiences.” ~ Kerry Wekelo
