Certrec’s 2018 Office of NERC Compliance workshop is tailored to address needs of GO/GOP operations personnel

“NERC’s risk-based approach to NERC compliance has been important to continued reliability. Based on last year’s attendance and positive feedback, we are looking forward to hosting an even better 2018 NERC Compliance workshop,” stated Ted Enos, Certrec CEO.

Certrec, a leading NERC regulatory compliance service provider, is pleased to announce their third Annual NERC Compliance workshop to be held March seventh and eighth in Fort Worth, Texas.

Attendees will include generator owner/generator operators across regions representing wind, solar, gas, hydro, nuclear, and coal assets.

The workshop will provide updates on CIP and other relevant standards. Three regional representatives will present their regulatory perspectives on the latest standards, the risk-based approach to compliance, and standards development. Guest presenters will discuss cyber security, facility ratings, and human performance. Certrec’s NERC team will provide guidance on best practices.

“NERC’s risk-based approach to NERC compliance has been important to continued reliability. Based on last year’s attendance and positive feedback, we are looking forward to hosting an even better 2018 NERC Compliance workshop,” stated Ted Enos, Certrec CEO.

“A robust NERC compliance program can significantly reduce risk to the owner and operator,” said Bob Biggs, Certrec ONC Services Director. “The entity with a proven NERC compliance program enjoys less scrutiny – less frequent audits, often with reduced scope as compared to the entity that historically has compliance challenges. The end result is less time and money invested in NERC audits, self-reports, violations, and fines.”
