Today, Rosica Places Strong Emphasis on Digital Media and Technology

Rosica Communications was founded in 1980, the year that CNN first aired, and its evolution since has secured its position amongst the top 125 largest independent PR agencies in the U.S., out of more than 12,000 PR firms nationwide.

Wally Amos (The Famous Amos Cookie Company) was the agency’s first client and Literacy Volunteers of America (LVA) became its second, spawning an agency focus on food and beverage and nonprofit PR. In 1979, agency co-founder John Rosica devised what he called a “cause marketing” initiative by partnering Famous Amos with LVA. Amos, a high school dropout, credited reading with his entrepreneurial success. Soon after, the Rosica agency brought the two organizations together and achieved national awareness for both brands through media events in dozens of markets across the country and other grassroots PR activities. This marketing success story has been taught in university classrooms for more than three decades, cementing Rosica’s pioneering role in cause marketing. In 2012, agency president Chris Rosica published The Business of Cause Marketing, his second book after The Authentic Brand.
