Longtime Deputy City Attorney Teague Westrope has announced his candidacy to become one of two new judges in the Thirteenth Judicial District Court. In addition to his extensive prosecution experience, Westrope also brings to his candidacy his experience as a former public defender and a private civil practitioner.
"For more than 10 years, I have worked hard pursuing justice on behalf of victims of crime and making Billings safer," says Westrope. Teague Westrope is a graduate of the University of Montana School of Law. He was one of the first attorneys hired by the Office of the State Public Defender when it was created in 2006. For more than a decade now, he has been a prosecutor for the City of Billings, seeking justice for thousands of victims of crime, authoring and successfully passing state legislation to strengthen our domestic and sexual violence laws, and working with an alliance of Montana retailers to reduce crime and keep shoppers safer.
