Miss Goldie, a business owner, a mother of two daughters, and a grandmother of a grandson and three granddaughters, has completed her new book “Caught by a Pimp”: a fascinating story of Miss Goldie’s determination to provide for her sick mother and daughter by trying to work as a stripper and her experiences with James, a man who gets hooked on crack.
Author Miss Goldie writes on deciding to move on from a horrible event: “After I was kidnapped by the fireman, I ended up back at my uncle Curtis’s house off Moreland Avenue. I mustered up some guts to walk to the store; it had been a year in a half before I could bring myself to step a foot outside. I was tired of living in fear; plus, the guys were behind bars. I haven’t heard anything else about them after the grand jury in Atlanta. I said to myself, ‘I refuse to live in fear.’ I was ready to take my life back.
So I started walking, minding my business, really. I was actually deep in thought, and a yellow Seville pulled up beside me. I didn’t stop. I just kept walking. The car was still on my tail, and so I pulled out my spray and the pocketknife Uncle Curtis gave me. See, my uncle made sure I was prepared just in case something went down again.”
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Miss Goldie’s new book is a highly original work on a woman whose life has changed after a traumatizing experience of being kidnapped, beaten, and raped by a fireman and his friend and undergoing a trial. It shows the haunting effects of sexual abuse to women.
Readers who wish to experience this enlightening work can purchase “Caught by a Pimp” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
