“BigMike” Straumietis, World Premier Cannabis Expert, Slams Anti-Cannabis Policy and Propaganda
LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) June 05, 2018 -- Michael “BigMike” Straumietis, the founder of Advanced Nutrients, the No. 1 cannabis company in the world, with more than 2.5 million followers and operating in 100 countries, speaks out against the damage wreaked by decades of anti-cannabis propaganda in our country.
“Unfortunately, the stigma that’s been attached to cannabis and cannabis consumers still lingers, even with the overwhelming scientific evidence in support of its medicinal properties,” BigMike contends. “This is the reason we must continue to advocate for cannabis and educate those who still hold tight to outdated, debunked, downright wrong notions about this plant.”
In fact, there are at least two active chemicals in marijuana that researchers think have medicinal applications. Those are cannabidiol (CBD) — which seems to impact the brain without a high— and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) — which has pain relieving properties and is largely responsible for the high. In addition to CBD and THC, there are another 400 or so chemical compounds, more than 60 of which are cannabinoids. Many of these could have medical uses.
“Clearly, the effects of decades of anti-cannabis propaganda are still being felt in our country,” BigMike continues. “We’ve come a long way in a few short years in the battle to legalize and normalize this incredible plant.”
Although marijuana has experienced a renaissance since the 1990s, when the first medical marijuana laws were passed, today 60% of Americans support its legalization. But, while legalization proponents may declare minor victory in the war over marijuana today, history shows that the debate is far from settled. Between 1973 and 1978, a dozen states decriminalized the possession of up to an ounce of marijuana. Pro-pot activists, many of them young veterans of the anti-war and civil-rights movements, argued that marijuana wasn’t as harmful as the government said it was, and that laws against it were unjust.
“We have to remember that we’re battling against decades of anti-cannabis policy and propaganda. Things aren’t going to change overnight. We have to continue advocating for cannabis and educate those who have been misinformed about the plant’s incredible medicinal and therapeutic properties,” BigMike passionately concludes.
