Costa Rica's commercial boom and economic growth continues in 2012, with an incredible boom in the construction of mega malls and shopping centers covering all areas of the Central Valley. This trend is highlighted by recent apertures of Avenida Escazu and the 5th phase of the incredibly successful Mulitplaza based in Escazu. The newest project, set to open its doors in 2014 is one of the largest malls in the country, equal to the combined size of all 5 phases of Multiplaza but being built at once is City Mall.

City Mall, which is being built in the area of Alajuela, promises more than 185,000 sq. meters of construction and 280 retail spaces. The project is 100% occupied already due to the aggressive marketing plans of the developer and will feature international brands from around the globe including Gap, Carrion, Aliss, Kenneth Cole, Tommy Hillfinger and Chilis to name a few. There will be a 10 theatre movie complex complete with 4D technology, thought its operator has not yet been named.

2 Costa Rica Real Estate, a national leader in commercial consulting, leases and sales has indicated that the demand for commercial space for both retail and business administration in San Jose has been nearly insatiable during the past few years. Business centers, call centers, industrial parks and malls are popping up all over Costa Rica's central valley and builders are racing to keep up with the demand from both international and local markets.

Se trata de City Mall, un proyecto de 185.000 metros cuadrados de construcción, 280 locales, 2.400 parqueos y varios accesos subterráneos que, según los planes de sus desarrolladores, operará a inicios del 2014.
