"I liked the Facebook contest a lot," O'Brien said. "I was really happy because it gave the average Joe like me a chance to actually win something. But I really need to thank everyone who voted. They made it all possible."

Show us how 4 Wheel Parts has been a part of your off-roading adventures! That's the challenge 4 Wheel Parts presented to their Facebook fans earlier this year with an enticing reward: a $1000 promo card each for the best photo album and best video.
Out of 61 entries, 4 Wheel Parts chose their top 5 in each category and then it was up to the fans. Anyone who was a fan of 4 Wheel Parts on Facebook could vote for his or her favorite photo and video. In the end, it was Cory O'Brien of Cromwell, Connecticut who won the most votes for his off-roading video and drove away with a $1000 4 Wheel Parts promo card.
"I liked the Facebook contest a lot," O'Brien said. "I was really happy because it gave the average Joe like me a chance to actually win something. But I really need to thank everyone who voted. They made it all possible." His video featuring his 1988 Chevrolet Suburban won him the majority vote in the contest.
This was the second contest 4 Wheel Parts, the nation's largest distributor of off-road parts for Jeeps, trucks, and SUVs, held on Facebook. Earlier this year they promoted their Show-n-Shine contest, giving Facebook fans the opportunity to vote for their favorite customer-owned and -submitted Jeeps and trucks. The winner from each category won a $1000 shopping spree at 4 Wheel Parts.
With his $1000 winnings, O'Brien didn't shy away from what he really wanted: "For sure the winch was what I was most excited about. It was not in the prospective budget for my truck and was one thing that will come in handy time and time again," O'Brien said. His final purchase list included: a Tabor 12K WARN Winch, Mile Marker 35 spline hubs, a Pro Comp tree saver strap, 2 Smittybilt D-rings, and a small air compressor for onboard air in the future.
This was just the next step in a long history of upgrades he has made to his Suburban including: welded 14 bolt spider gears, Dana 60 front axle with 35 spline outers, hydraulic steering assist, 40" Super Swamper tires, 9" lift kit, 2wd SM465 transmission, twin-sticked NP205 transfercase, and 32 gallon RCI fuel cell. He even chopped off the back of his Chevy to install a tube bed.
Many of these upgrades came from 4 Wheel Parts. "4 Wheel Parts is a big part of off-roading for me," O'Brien said. "I read every page of every off road adventures that comes to the door. They give me great ideas and keep me on my toes for new and upcoming designs. I have ordered countless parts from the website… I just wish there was a store close to me on the east coast. I would be there almost every day."
An avid off-roader since college, he's already thinking about the next upgrades he wants to make. "Future plans are to build an interior and engine cage to protect the truck, build up the onboard air system, and build a 383 to get some more power going. Those are the big things anyway," O'Brien said. Who knows? Maybe he will win another contest and receive those items care of 4 Wheel Parts.
