Avoid Foreclosure Defense Scams
Jacksonville, Florida (PRWEB) June 18, 2013
The McCann Law Group, LLP dba Consumer Attorney Services deployed a “Fight Foreclosure Scams” consumer advocacy campaign in June to help reduce the number of homeowners victimized by foreclosure scams and rip offs. The “Fight Foreclosure Scams” initiative included posting articles about how to look for and avoid foreclosure scams on the Consumer Attorney Services website, a free client agreement review service and eventually a place to report foreclosure scams.
The “Fight Foreclosure Scams” campaign emerged after an extended period of time with Consumer Attorney Services receiving phone calls from distressed homeowners who had been victimized by foreclosure scams. It became clear to Consumer Attorney Services that more information on the topic needed to become readily available and homeowners needed a way to protect themselves from becoming victims of foreclosure scams and rip offs.
Consumer Attorney Services first addressed the issue by posting informative articles on its website with information on subjects like “Loan Modification Scams” and “Consumer Attorney Services’ 5 Tips on How to Avoid a Foreclosure Rip Off Scam.” Consumer Attorney Services believed strongly that spreading helpful information about the topic would be the first important step in reducing the number of victimized homeowners.
Consumer Attorney Services took its “Fight Foreclosure Scams” campaign one step further by implementing a free client agreement review for homeowners enlisting the help of a foreclosure defense company. Homeowners are able to submit their client agreements on the “Free Client Agreement Review” page on Consumer Attorney Services’ website in to have it reviewed by an attorney.
The attorney with Consumer Attorney Services examines and reviews the client agreement to look out for any fraudulent, malicious or unsavory stipulations. Consumer Attorney Services hoped to promote truth and transparency among providers of foreclosure defense services by offering this client agreement review service.
Consumer Attorney Services also plans to implement a “Report a Foreclosure Rip Off” section to its website by the end of the month as part of its “Fight Foreclosure Scams” campaign. Homeowners will be able to report their foreclosure scams in detail so Consumer Attorney Services can try and escalate the claim to the proper authorities.
Consumer Attorney Services believes its “Fight Foreclosure Scams” campaign will help to provide homeowners with valuable resources for protecting themselves from foreclosure scams and rip offs.
