5min Releases a Unique Embedded Version of its Instructional Video Player
5min's (Videojug's competitor) embedded Smart Player opens a whole new realm of possibilities for blogs and websites. It can turn every yoga or cooking site into an advanced instructional platform. From now on, the specialized sites' audiences can enjoy instructional features like slow motion and zoom.
Tel-Aviv, Israel, May 9, 2007 -- 5min.com, the leading instructional video website, announces the release of an embedded version of its flash player. This, as its competitor videojug announces the raising of $30 million.
The Smart Player was designed specifically to enhance the viewing experience of instructional videos. It allows viewers to watch the video in slow motion or frame by frame, zoom in and out. It also gives the video creator the option to make a storyboard that helps others better understand the demonstration, and even allows users to print the story board.
"A lot of video traffic on the internet is from embeds on websites, blogs, aggregators, etc., but the viewing capabilities of these embed players are limited, "says 5min's CEO Ran Harnevo. "By releasing a full version of our Smart Player for embedding, we're letting people enhance their viewing and learning experience in their own blogs and websites."
"There is a huge amount of specialized websites out there that want to expose their audience to instructional video content. Our new Smart Player gives those sites excellent tools for enhancing their instructional viewing experience" says 5min's CMO Tal Siman-Tov.
5min is an instructional video site that was founded by three Israeli entrepreneurs: Ran Harnevo, Hanan Lashover and Tal Simantov. Since its launch a month ago, the website has generated considerable traffic and is negotiating several content and distribution deals.
