Orange, CA (PRWEB) September 04, 2012

More than 100 employees from national reverse mortgage lender American Advisors Group (AAG) are planning to take part in the Walk to End Alzheimer's at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif. on September 22. The team, nicknamed the "AAG Army," will walk with friends, family and pets to help raise awareness for this important cause.

As one of the nation's largest reverse mortgage lenders, AAG assists seniors who want to use their home equity to age in place. AAG staff members work closely with seniors to help them make important financial decisions for a comfortable retirement.

AAG spokesman Senator Fred Thompson offered his support for the Alzheimer's Walk. "This is a disease that directly impacts many of the people AAG works to serve every day," Senator Thompson said. "AAG's heightened sense of civic duty and desire to genuinely help the senior community is one of the reasons I joined the company. This walk is essential to increasing awareness for this disease and I hope it receives the attention and support it deserves."

Walks supporting the Alzheimer's Association are held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide to raise funds for patient care and research. Alzheimer's affects one in eight older Americans and is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, with 5.4 million Americans living with the disease. In 2012, the cost of caring for patients with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia totaled $210 billion. For donations, please visit the Alzheimer's Association website at alz.org.

The Walk to End Alzheimer's is part of the "AAG Reverse Mortgage Gives Back" program, which encourages employees to participate in various local and national charities. In addition to its support of the Alzheimer's Association, AAG Gives Back raises funds for the Kwagala Project, a charity seeking to improve the lives of exploited young women in Uganda.

American Advisors Group is A+ rated by the Better Business Bureau, a member of the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association and an Approved Lender by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. For more information about AAG and reverse mortgages, visit AAGreverse.com.
