Krish Prabhu Elected to ADVA Optical Networking’s Supervisory Board
Former Tellabs, Alcatel veteran brings years of optical networking and telecommunications experience to drive innovation and vision
Norcross, Georgia, USA and Martinsried/Munich, Germany (Vocus/PRWEB ) August 4, 2008 -- ADVA Optical Networking today announced that Krish Prabhu has been elected to the company’s Supervisory Board. His election by the company’s annual general meeting (AGM) in Meiningen, Germany took effect on June 11, 2008.
Mr. Prabhu was the CEO of Tellabs, a NASDAQ-listed company, from 2004-2008. During his service, he successfully broadened the company’s product portfolio to include platforms that support triple play and mobile services, which were a major part of the company’s focus on enabling residential, business and wireless communications. He presided over the acquisition of two companies, Advanced Fibre Communications and Vinci Systems, and doubled sales at the company during his tenure while managing more than 3,550 people worldwide.

In his role as venture partner, Prabhu was involved from 2001-2004 with the funding and development of several private companies. Prior to that position, Prabhu served as COO of Alcatel Telecom from 1999-2001 and as CEO of Alcatel USA from 1997-1999. He began his career in 1980 at AT&T Bell Laboratories as a member of the technical staff. Prabhu currently serves as a member of the Board of Visitors, School of Engineering, University of Pittsburgh and as a life member of the Development Board of the University of Texas at Dallas.
