“...the adoption of an international safety standard is to everyone’s benefit. I am proud that AMT continues to be at the forefront of helping companies adopt new standards and technologies in this dynamic industry." - Mike Jacobs, AMT President & CEO

Indianapolis, Indiana (PRWEB) September 12, 2012

The National Robot Safety Conference XXIV takes place this month (September 24-26) and the event corresponds with a soon-to-be released updated robot safety standard. Premier automation engineering firm Applied Manufacturing Technologies (AMT) will be exhibiting at the conference trade fair and available to discuss the latest robotics and automation industry developments with attendees.

The new standard emphasizes the importance of performing a risk assessment on all new robotic systems. AMT provides both the resources to conduct these assessments and an unparalleled level of expertise in the field. Professionals attending the conference can hear first-hand from AMT exactly what they need to do in order to ensure compliance. Visitors to the AMT exhibit will be able to discuss the impact of the new regulations with an expert from AMT and can arrange for an integrator to perform the service at their work site.

The proposed standard, the 2012 edition of ANSI R15.06, radically transforms the landscape of automated technology in the United States. As with the international standards, the obligation on behalf of the system integrator to consider all safety risks has never been so critical.

AMT President and CEO Mike Jacobs remarked, “The proliferation of automation in robotics across industries continues and the adoption of an international safety standard is to everyone’s benefit. I am proud that AMT continues to be at the forefront of helping companies adopt new standards and technologies in this dynamic industry.”

The National Robot Safety Conference runs from September 24 through September 26 at the Indianapolis Marriott East in Indianapolis, Indiana. The conference is sponsored by the Robotic Industries Association and will feature workshops and a tabletop trade fair of exhibits.
