APM Buildings, a designer and direct distributor of pole buildings, pole garages and stud wall garages, announces that they are partnering with McElroy Metal, Inc. By selecting McElroy as their preferred metal siding and roofing panel manufacturer, APM is confidently able to ensure that all of the buildings they design, package, and delivery come standard with industry-recognized and superior performing roofing and wall panels.
APM Buildings offers a number of building types such as standard pole buildings, gambrel-roof pole barns, garages and workshops that can be customized with different windows, doors, siding colors, etc. The company can handle the construction of the building as a turnkey project or the building kit can be purchased by an individual to construct on their own as a do-it-yourself project. The building kit includes all the materials needed for construction (roofing, siding, posts, trusses, etc.) along with a detailed set of plans. As it is the primary shell in a pole building, and typically the only protection from the elements, the quality of metal used as siding and roofing panels is vital not only to the appearance but also the longevity of a pole building. Two primary components make up the McElroy Max-Rib II panels, the substrate and its protective coating. Max-Rib II incorporates a Galvalume substrate, which performs well above the more commonly known Galvanized. Where a Galvanized panel is coated only in zinc, a Galvalume panel had an added protective barrier coating of aluminum. It is this additional process that allows Galvalume panels to be warranted against perforation due to rust; standard Galvanized panels do not carry this perforation warranty.
Consumer expectation and demand for pole buildings has widened greatly in the last two decades. "When we began offering our 'fully built' and 'build it yourself' pole building kits, our primary customers were farmers in need of equipment storage. We’ve seen that change more and more each passing year," reports Curt Grim, President of APM Buildings. "Today our pole buildings can be found in many residential and commercial / industrial areas. We’ve designed and delivered buildings with fully finished interiors to be used as classroom training facilities, retail shops, self storage businesses, automotive repair shops, and offices." Constructing a pole building for uses such as those only increases the need for strength, durability, and a pleasing look for the roofing and siding metal. “The combination of a changing, more residential consumer base looking to have a pole building or garage as a frequently used extension of their functional home space is what led us to offer McElroy’s Max Rib II as our siding and roofing steel of choice," Grim adds.
