Naples, FL (PRWEB) March 14, 2011
Allen Systems Group (ASG) today announced that the company acquired PS’Soft SAS – a market-leading provider of IT Asset and Service Management software. This acquisition further solidifies ASG’s product strategy, designed to automate data center operations and strengthen customers’ ability to both manage and deliver IT services critical to business processes. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The PS'Soft SAS IT Service Management Next Generation (ITSMNG) suite includes a Service Desk with incident, problem, change, configuration, release, service level and availability management processes, all of which have been verified to an enhanced level of ITIL compatibility by Pink Elephant™. PS’Soft’s Service Management, with its ability to manage the full lifecycle of IT services, complements ASG’s automated discovery, rich analytics, native dependency mapping and model-based approach – better enabling customers to manage service delivery end-to-end.
PS'Soft SAS IT Asset Management Next Generation (ITAMNG) is a comprehensive, integrated asset-management solution. Aligned on ITIL® best practices, it helps customers optimize the way they manage hardware and software resources. Functionality for IT financial management is also included within the PS’Soft portfolio.
“With the introduction of virtualization and web-based technologies, our customers are looking for a dynamic IT service environment that can keep pace with this rapid rate of change and growing complexity,” said Arthur Allen, ASG’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our application dependency and change management expertise coupled with PS’Soft’s excellence in service management makes us a collective driving force in delivering end user satisfaction with customers. Together, we’ll deliver an even better end-user experience for our customers than before.”
According to Forrester Research, "the service desk today functions as the front office of IT and orchestrator for many of the IT service management (ITSM) activities described in the ITIL best practice library. The process areas of incident and problem management, change management, configuration management, release management, and many more all need to be connected and orchestrated to benefit the service consumer." The PS’Soft acquisition has positioned ASG well to meet these challenges.
“Our European customers across many market segments seek to efficiently manage IT through best of breed tools and business practices. We have delivered over the years market-leading solution that provide CIOs the necessary visibility into core assets and business services,” said Ossama Hassanein Chairman of the Board, BDNA. “PS’Soft’s acquisition by ASG makes perfect sense, as it allowed us to take our vision one step further - providing the financial and technology resources of a proven leader in information management to further cement our market leadership across the world.”
ASG and PS'Soft SAS have been working together as partners for over 10 years and ASG plans to further integrate its award-winning application dependency mapping plus change management technologies as a core piece of the combined offering. The PS'Soft SAS acquisition gives ASG a more complete service management solution to add to its existing portfolio of data, operations and performance management capabilities within the EAMS (Enterprise Automation Management Suite) foundation technology.
