Professionals in the healthcare fields and members of the clergy represent a huge source of referrals to Al-Anon Family Groups. We are excited about this new opportunity to engage with these important communities.
Virginia Beach, Virginia (PRWEB) August 31, 2012
Al-Anon Family Group Headquarters, Inc. (AFG, Inc.), the non-profit organization for the families and friends of alcoholics, is now established on the professional networking Web site, LinkedIn.
AFG, Inc. is encouraging all professionals to visit the “Al-Anon Family Group Headquarters, Inc.,” LinkedIn Page and to click “Follow,” once there. “Followers” will receive updates, including:
- New AFG, Inc. literature
- Results of AFG, Inc. studies, such as the upcoming 2012 Membership Survey
- Information about AFG, Inc. events
The new LinkedIn page was created for outreach to professionals, specifically to therapists, social workers, members of the clergy, and the like, who may learn more about Al-Anon Family Groups and the effects of alcoholism on families and friends; and in turn, refer more patients/clients. AFG, Inc.’s most recent Membership Survey revealed that 44% of members were referred by a professional to Al-Anon Family Group meetings, at some point in time. Pamela Walters, Marketing Information Analyst with AFG, Inc. says, "Professionals in the healthcare fields and members of the clergy represent a huge source of referrals to Al-Anon Family Groups. We are excited about this new opportunity to engage with these important communities."
While AFG, Inc.’s LinkedIn page was established as a tool for professionals, the Web site, http://www.al-anon.alateen.org, is a resource for Al-Anon Family Group members and potential members who are dealing with someone else’s alcoholism.
AFG, Inc.’s LinkedIn page is live, so visit the page today to learn more, and to provide feedback when updates are posted.
