Today, The Arc in Massachusetts announced that it will be bringing the second annual All Aboard The Arc! event and rally to Boston on April 29, 2012, at John Hancock Hall. The Arc in Massachusetts is dedicated to supporting individuals and families with developmental and intellectual disabilities. All Aboard the Arc! is designed to raise money and awareness about The Arc’s leadership in providing services and advocacy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, while celebrating the many accomplishments of people with special challenges. All Aboard The Arc! is open to the public, and all are welcome to attend, participate, raise pledges and donate.
Leo Sarkissian, Executive Director of The Arc of Massachusetts said, “We are proud to conduct All Aboard The Arc! in Boston to celebrate The Arc’s leadership in the human and civil rights movement for people with intellectual and disabilities, the achievements of people with special challenges, and their inclusion in the communities of Massachusetts. People from all over the Commonwealth will be joining us to rally and support the thousands of people we serve. All Aboard The Arc! will take place at the Back Bay Events Center, located in the John Hancock Hall in downtown Boston, and will begin at 12 noon and end at 2 pm. All Aboard The Arc! will feature an inspirational opening ceremony celebrating The Arc movement, featured entertainment, and a chance to meet many business and civic leaders from Massachusetts. Special guest entertainer, Justin Hines, will perform, not only sharing his talent, but also his inspiring story. Comcast Business Class is the lead sponsor of this event. All Aboard The Arc! is planned to raise $550,000 dollars through donations and pledges to aid The Arc in the work they do for children and adults with intellectual and developmental challenges.
