AmeriGlide Announces Recipient of AmeriGlide Achiever Scholarship
Today, AmeriGlide announced the recipient of this years AmeriGlide Achiever Scholarship. This scholarship is available to full time college students who use a wheelchair.
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) February 26, 2009 -- AmeriGlide Stair Lifts announced today the recipient of the first semi-annual AmeriGlide Achiever Scholarship. The AmeriGlide Achiever Scholarship is available to full time college students who use wheelchairs, with the recipient receiving $500 and having their essay added to AmeriGlide's Web Site.
This years recipient is Kristen Jackson, who attends Saint Louis University where she is working towards a degree in clinical psychology. Her essay can be viewed at the AmeriGlide Achiever Recipients Page
Jeff Sheffer, the CEO of AmeriGlide, was very pleased saying, "It was great to read all of the wonderful essays and get to know a little bit about these students. There were many qualified applicants, but unfortunately we could only select one."
The AmeriGlide Achiever Scholarship was developed to help provide some financial assistance to full time college students who use wheelchairs. This $500 scholarship is offered twice a year, for the spring and fall semesters.
In order to be eligible, the applicant must be currently enrolled as a full time student, use a wheelchair, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. In addition, the applicant must be a legal resident or possess a current student visa.
Applicants have the option of completing the entire application process online, or they can print and mail their application to AmeriGlide. Applicants will also have to respond to this years essay question, which can be found on the AmeriGlide Site.
The next AmeriGlide Achievers Scholarship will be awarded on August 1, 2009, however all applications must be completed by July 1, 2009. More information about the Scholarship can be found at the AmeriGlide Achiever Scholarship page.
