The American Nuclear Society (ANS) kicks off its 2012 Winter Conference and Nuclear Technology Expo on Monday, November 12, in San Diego, CA, with sessions featuring leading nuclear experts on nuclear science and technology issues.
“The nuclear science community continues to innovate across the board, ensuring that nuclear energy is safe and reliable today and an important contributor to tomorrow’s clean energy needs,” said ANS President Michael Corradini, PhD.
The theme of this year’s conference is "Future Nuclear Technologies: Resilience and Flexibility." The ANS Winter Conference and Nuclear Technology Expo marks the tenth anniversary of the Generation IV (Gen IV) International Forum. The Gen IV Forum is an international collective of national nuclear leaders working cooperatively on the development of next generation nuclear reactor concepts.
“Over the past decade, the Gen IV Forum has served as an incubator for new and advanced reactor designs," stated Corradini. “The Gen IV Forum features the latest and most complete discussions of tomorrow’s reactor designs, and I am proud that ANS is celebrating this gathering of the best and brightest in nuclear science and technology."
The American Nuclear Society welcomes recognized media representatives to attend. A full meeting program can be found online via the ANS website at http://www.ans.org/meetings/winter/.
