The American Dream Project Rededicated to the Pursuit of the 21st Century American Dream

The American Dream Project’s new website is more focused on the personal aspects of the American Dream such as the quality of our relationships, the healthiness of our lifestyle, and the satisfaction of our career.

Will Marre and the American Dream Project announce the re-launch of their website AmericanDreamProject.org. The American Dream Project has inspired hundreds of thousands of visitors with nearly 25,000 people taking the Dream Life Assessment, an online questionnaire that allows participants to measure the quality of their own life against scientific norms of people who enjoy deep life satisfaction.

The American Dream Project has had staggering insights with the Dream Life Assessment. For instance when it comes to personal life satisfaction, only 34% single and 30% of married participants regularly invest time and resources to pursue hobbies and interests that are deeply satisfying and enjoyable. The assessment has also revealed that a whopping 75% of participants feel unsuited for their career and find their work to be void of value, joy, and meaning. What has this meant for the American Dream in 2010? According to outplacement firm Challenger Gray & Christmas' Quarterly Job Market Index, of job seekers who gained employment in the last two quarters of 2009, nearly one in 10 — 9.6% — did so by launching their own businesses.

Since the American Dream Project’s creation in 2004, Will Marre has found that the American Dream has gone through tremendous stress and is currently under radical redefinition. A recent MetLife study confirms that nearly nine in ten (87 percent) Americans say the current economic environment has caused them to reevaluate their priorities and place more emphasis on personal relationships, and 77 percent say that for them, achieving the American Dream is about improving the quality of their lives by strengthening personal relationships.

The American Dream Project’s re-launch of their community-focused website is more dedicated to helping people live the 21st century definition of the American Dream—a dream focused on the quality of life: health, resilience, daily experience, and most importantly, relationships. Such special features include a weekly blog, a free 30-day series of personal video coaching segments with personal challenges and applications, articles, surveys and assessments, and a free download, based on Marre’s research of how Americans are adjusting in today’s world and what they are doing to stay afloat and keep their dreams alive, entitled 10 Things Americans Are Doing Now To Achieve the American Dream. Marre states, “The American Dream Project is a place where people can more clearly define their dreams and pursue genuine happiness.”
