Arlington, TX (Vocus/PRWEB ) November 17, 2008 -- Recent news stories have indicated that 70 percent of people fabricate their resumes, with many job-hunters falsely indicating that they are a member of Mensa, the high IQ society. Employers can now guarantee that their prospects are truly members by utilizing American Mensa CareerLink (www.careerlink.us.mensa.org), an online career center where employers can browse potential employees that are pre-qualified as highly intelligent. American Mensa is a social and service organization for those who score in the top two percent of the general population on a standardized intelligence test.
Employers have two options in their usage of American Mensa's CareerLink. If an employer finds a favorable resume through a search, they may pay a minimal fee to receive the person's contact information. Employers can purchase the ability to post jobs, with the posted job being available online for 45 days. All respondents to postings and those posting resumes are current members of American Mensa. Employers can also purchase five or ten postings at a time, or an unlimited, annual purchase that will allow an employer to purchase unlimited resume contacts and job postings throughout the length of their annual subscription.
"American Mensa's CareerLink will provide our members with a unique opportunity to connect with employers and look at posted jobs in their industry," said Heather Miller Poirier, Membership Officer of American Mensa. "This service will expose our membership to new jobs that are ideal to their chosen career path, and employers to job candidates who have tested in the top two percent of intelligence in the United States."
Mensa members may post resumes, search for jobs and apply for jobs. Members of American Mensa work in numerous fields, with top categories being education, legal and technology. More than 44 percent of American Mensa members hold a higher education degree.
American Mensa is an organization open to anyone who scores in the top two percent on an accepted, standardized intelligence test. The organization has more than 56,000 members in the United States and more than 110,000 members around the world. Members of Mensa attend local and national events, join special interest groups such as astronomy and philosophy, and help out in their communities through various projects.
