Artiklz Captures Second Place in Mashable People's Choice Open Web Award

Conversation search engine provider edges out thousands to secure top finish in People's Choice Award

Irvine, CA (PRWEB) January 5, 2009 -- Artiklz (http://artiklz.com), the company that brings you conversation search, announced today that it was awarded second place in the Mashable People's Choice 2nd Annual Open Web Awards, in the category of Search and Social Search. The Open Web Awards is the only multilingual international online voting competition that covers major innovations in web technology. Through an online nominating and voting process, the Open Web Awards recognizes and honors the top achievements in 26 categories. Winners last year included Facebook, Digg, Google, Meetup, Twitter, Netvibes, woot!, Last.fm and Mahalo.

This year over 43,000 start-ups contested in the first round of open nominations in the 26 categories. Of this initial group, the 10 companies with the most nominations in each category moved on to the First Round of Online Voting. After the votes were tallied from first round of voting three companies in each category remained for the Final Battle Round of online voting. In the Search and Social Search category Scour took first prize and Artiklz second, respectfully.
