Olivia Wilde and Hank Azaria to Accept Artivist Awards at 6th Artivist Film Festival Awards, December 5 in Hollywood

The 6th Annual Artivist Film Festival Honors top Advocate Artists at their Awards event. This year the honorees are Olivia Wilde, Hank Azaria and producer Stephen Nemeth. The Awards take place on December 5th at 8pm at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood. Numerous notables are scheduled to present awards or attend including host Kevin Dunn, Maria Bello, Frances Fisher, Kathleen “Bird” York, Benjamin Bratt, Joshua Leonard, Daphne Zuniga, Richard Burgi, Persia White, Debra Skelton, Fox 11 LA news anchor Christine Devine, and more.

The Artivist Collective is pleased to announce the Artivist Award winners for the 6th Annual Artivist Film Festival Awards. Actress, and activist Olivia Wilde and Actor Hank Azaria both will accept the Artivist Award, honoring those artists whose exemplary work in their community stands out as a shining example of one person's ability to change the world for the better.

Olivia Wilde has helped numerous causes including Power Up Gambia, Artists for Peace and Justice, the ACLU and the Barack Obama campaign. She is well known for her work on the Fox Network’s hit drama “House” as well as her starring roles in major features Alpha Dog, Year One and next year’s highly anticipated Tron: Legacy.

Four-time Emmy award winning actor Hank Azaria has appeared on over 400 episodes of “The Simpsons” as such beloved characters as Moe the Bartender, Apu the convenience store owner and Cletus. He also starred in the television series “Huff,” the classic made for television film Tuesdays with Morrie and has appeared in top feature films including The Simpsons Movie, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, Birdcage, America’s Sweethearts and Along Came Polly. His upcoming projects include FOX’s romantic comedy “Love & Other Drugs.” He is the founder of Determined to Succeed, an educational non-profit organization dedicated to providing an exceptional group of low socio-economic students with comprehensive year-round support.

Also receiving an Artivist Award will be respected producer and President of Rhino Films Stephen Nemeth. Stephen is well known for his tireless advocacy on behalf of numerous causes including the Wildlife Ecostation, Wheels For Humanity, Children Uniting Nations, Shine On Sierra Leone, OneVoice, the Veggie Van Organization, LACMA, Amnesty International, Rock the Vote and more. His films include the features Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Why Do Fools Fall in Love, and Dogtown and Z Boys, and the documentaries War/Dance which was nominated for a 2008 Academy Award for Best Documentary, Fuel and Flow. His latest doc Climate Refugees has the support of the UN and is screening at the Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen next month.

Past Artivist Award recipients include: Ted Danson, Alyssa Milano, Joaquin Phoenix, Matthew McConaughey, Mira Sorvino, James Cromwell, Ed Begley Jr, Tippi Hedren, Claes Nobel of the NOBEL Prize Family and Mike Farrell.

This year’s awards will take place December 5 at the historic Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood at 8pm and will be hosted by actor and comedian Kevin Dunn. The event will feature celebrity presenters and guests including Maria Bello, Frances Fisher, Kathleen “Bird” York, Benjamin Bratt, Joshua Leonard, Daphne Zuniga, Richard Burgi, Persia White, Debra Skelton, Fox 11 news anchor Christine Devine, and more. The awards are followed by a lovely catered event in the forecourt of the Egyptian. Limited public tickets for the awards are available at the Festival Box Office at the Egyptian Theater.

Artivist is the first film festival dedicated to addressing International Human Rights, Children's Advocacy, Environmental Preservation, and Animal Advocacy. In addition to the artist awards, Artivist also awards a feature and short in each of these four categories. Additionally the Artivist Spirit Award goes to the film that best embodies the overall mission of the festival.

The Artivist Film Festival screens over 40 independent, narratives, documentaries, shorts, and experimental films from around the globe at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood from December 1-5, concluding with the Artivist Awards. The festival’s mission is to strengthen the voice of advocate artists - "Artivists" - while raising public awareness for global causes.

Since its inception in 2004, the Artivist Film Festival has showcased over 400 films representing more than 45 countries around the world.
