Heritage Woods of Batavia, a BMA affordable assisted living community, will host a craft and vendor fair from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Nov. 7.

The community, which is located at 1079 E. Wilson St. in Batavia, Illinois, serves older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid, who need some help to maintain their independence.

Mary Kay, Tastefully Simple, Polly Beads and Pampered Chef are among the vendors that have signed up for the fair. This year, Heritage Woods is also partnering with Batavia MainStreet's Artisan Market to bring in local artists and their handmade goods.

“We invite everyone to stop by our craft and vendor fair to find the perfect holiday gift for their loved ones and take a look around our community,” said Director of Marketing Jennifer Hanke.

The Heritage Woods of Batavia affordable assisted living community combines residential apartment-home living with the availability of personal assistance, help with medications, and a variety of convenience and support services.

"We provide older adults with a wonderful alternative to the nursing home or struggling alone at home," says Hanke.

Residents live in private apartments that they furnish and decorate to their taste. Each of the apartments includes a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually-controlled heating and air conditioning, and an emergency alert system.

Certified nursing assistants are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Meals, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.

"Residents also benefit from all of the opportunities that are available to socialize with friends and neighbors and to participate in activities and special programs," says Hanke.

The community is certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program and managed by BMA Management, of Bradley, Illinois.

BMA Management is the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.
