In her newest novel, “Bingo the Winner” (published by Trafford Publishing), author Autum Augusta shares the story of Bingo, a dog whose multiple kidnappings turned his life from a near-death experience into a life of loving hospitality.

Readers will follow Bingo as he is brought in and out of strangers’ homes, experiencing love and care in some and abuse and neglect in others.

According to Pet-Abuse.com, there were 113 reported cases of animal abuse in the U.S. in 2013, down from 552 U.S. cases in 2012. Augusta gives readers a glimpse into the life of domestic animals, shedding light on the horrors of animal cruelty.

An excerpt from “Bingo the Winner”:

“Bingo was sad because Delly and Del had left him again. He did not care what happened. Bingo put his head on his paws and whined. He jumped when the dog catcher stuck him with something that felt like a bee sting. “What did he do that for?” Bingo wondered. Bingo felt the bee sting again. “I’m getting out of here,” Bingo thought and started to run.”
