Dataspace and Online Tech Announce Strategic Partnership

Business Intelligence Moves to Software-as-a-Service Model

Ann Arbor, Michigan (PRWEB) September 9, 2009 -- Online Tech, Michigan's largest managed data center operator, and Dataspace, an Ann Arbor-based business intelligence software and consulting firm that enables organizational transformation by designing and implementing decision support systems, announced a partnership to benefit their respective clients.

Ben Taub, CEO of Dataspace, said "Many of our current and prospective clients are interested in implementing our advanced reporting, analytic and predictive technologies yet don't have the desire to manage the associated software and infrastructure, so we've begun packaging our offerings into Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) models. Our choice of Online Tech as our colocation hosting provider allows us to operate as a tightly integrated team, so we can focus on the business solution, and know that the underlying infrastructure will be reliable and cost-effective."

"Software-as-a-Service is quickly becoming the preferred delivery model for software," said Mike Klein, COO of Online Tech which hosts dozens of Software-as-a-Service providers in their data centers. "SaaS can be deployed quickly across the Internet and removes a number of traditional IT barriers frequently found in client-server deployments. Business intelligence delivered through a SaaS model by Dataspace will eliminate the demand on IT departments to invest in high performance, specialized data warehouse platforms, specialized training and ongoing hardware and software support costs. Dataspace will be able to deliver a complete Internet-based decision support solution that doesn't require extensive IT support."

As part of the agreement, Online Tech will be hosting a variety of business intelligence and data warehouse platforms in their world-class data centers to support Dataspace's offerings in vertical markets including insurance, health care, manufacturing and distribution. In addition to packaged offerings, Dataspace can now offer the convenience of hosting custom solutions for those clients who have unique needs.
