BRIOprint Responds to Increased Demand from the Self – Publishing Market for Specialized Book Printing Services
Book printer, BRIOprint, is stepping up its book printing services to accommodate the unique needs of authors who’ve taken the road of self-promotion.
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) September 21, 2006 -- http://www.brioprint.com -- BRIOprint, a leading commercial print company providing book printing, magazine/catalog printing and other commercial color printing services, is responding to the ever growing self-publishing market, with new book printing services.
“Ignored is too strong of a word. Underserved? Absolutely,” said William Reynolds, Managing Director at BRIOprint in describing the book printing market toward which BRIOprint is focusing its efforts. “There’s HarperCollins, Zondervan, Random House, and then…there is everyone else.“
Currently, book printing accounts for nearly 30% of BRIOprint’s commercial business. Of that number, self - publishing represents 50%. With that number in mind, BRIOprint has devised new book printing services specifically tailored to the unique needs of self publishers.
“If you have a well established publishing company, you no doubt have the facilities in place to accommodate large volume warehousing and fulfillment,” said Reynolds. “But if you’re a motivated author looking to move books through grass root channels or self – promotion, 5000 books, for example, can be a logistical challenge. One of the most common questions we hear is “But where am I going to store them?”
BRIOprint recently partnered with a Minneapolis - based fulfillment company capable of warehousing books at a fraction of the cost charged by most other print companies and/or storage facilities. The thinking behind this partnership was that even more self publishers would utilize BRIOprint if the means for book storage were available to them at an affordable rate. From its fulfillment location, BRIOprint can drop ship to distributors, book shops, hotel kiosks as well as fulfill book club and Amazon orders.
BRIOprint also has recently augmented its design and layout department to better accommodate the file prep challenges associated with self – publishing. With nearly 90% of book projects originating from the receipt of non-commercial standard digital files such as Microsoft Word and Publisher, BRIOprint is endeavoring to steer authors in the right direction via education and helpful layout assistance.
“The hard part should be writing the book, not getting it printed,” said Reynolds.
