New Book Reveals the Original Octo-Mom

Tulsa, OK (Vocus/PRWEB ) June 13, 2009 -- Octuplets mother Nadya Suleman has become notorious for giving birth to eight children at the same time, but Daniel King's new book, "The Secret of Obed-Edom," reveals she may not be the first Octo-mom.
In biblical times, there was a woman who may have borne eight sons in one pregnancy. She was the wife of Obed-Edom, an obscure Bible character. The Bible says, "God blessed his house and everything he had." Later in the Bible, there is a list of all of Obed-Edom's sons, eight of them, and according to one ancient Jewish commentator, the reason that everyone knew Obed-Edom was blessed was because his wife conceived and gave birth to all eight sons at the same time.
"I was amazed to discover that Obed-Edom's wife may have been the original Octo-Mom," says Daniel King, author of a new book "The Secret of Obed-Edom." "I don't know if it's true that she bore all eight sons at the same time but we do know that Obed-Edom was tremendously blessed by God. Children are a blessing from God and even though Obed-Edom came from a bad family background, his children all served in the house of God alongside him."
Daniel King says he discovered "The Secret of Obed-Edom" while reading through lists of genealogical names in the Old Testament. He noticed the Bible said that Obed-Edom was blessed. He became curious about who this Bible character was and began to study his life. Now Daniel says, "Obed-Edom is the greatest undiscovered story in the Bible. You may not have heard many sermons about his life but God used him in such a tremendous way. His story contains truth that can help every believer."
