Independent book publisher Bibliomotion is pleased to announce the launch of 30gurus.com, a learning platform that creates a forum for authors to turn their books into courses.

Bibliomotion formed a joint venture with Boston-based platform developer Exploros to launch 30gurus. Exploros has been on the cutting edge of technology in the K-12 space for decades, most recently developing PangeaTools, a cloud-based eLearning authoring and distribution platform, which was acquired by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in 2012. "We're excited to merge the power of the Exploros collaborative learning platform with the 30gurus authors,” says Yoel Givol, COO of Exploros. “We think the partnership represents a new way of scaling the expert, and making quality learning experiences available any time, any place."

“We immediately saw the value of the technology for our content—the world of professional and personal development,” says Bibliomotion co-founder and publisher Erika Heilman. “The beauty of 30gurus is that it leverages both lecture-style instruction in the form of video and text content along with peer-to-peer interaction. And it’s all done ‘within the experience’ housed in a mobile app,” adds Heilman.

30gurus.com is set to host more than 100 courses by the end of the year and plans to open up the marketplace to authors beyond the Bibliomotion stable. Jill Friedlander, co-founder and president of Bibliomotion, explains that “the courses are seen as part of an overall content portfolio that we help authors develop. It gives participants access to our author experts in a collaborative and intimate setting.”

Bibliomotion, a Boston-based start up founded in 2011 by Jill Friedlander and Erika Heilman has published 35 books since 2012, primarily in the areas of business and parenting, and is poised to add about 15-20 books per year to their list. Each book has the ability to be translated into a course or many courses depending on the content and instructor’s area of focus.

About Bibliomotion:

Bibliomotion is a book publishing house designed for the new publishing landscape. While many publishers work to retrofit old processes for new realities, Bibliomotion was founded by book-industry veterans who believe the best approach is a fresh one – one that focuses on empowering authors and serving readers above all else. Moving away from the top-down model that has dominated the publishing process for years, we give each member of the team – including the author – a seat at the table from the very beginning and in doing so, work side-by-side to launch and sell the best content possible, making it available in a variety of forms. http://www.bibliomotion.com and http://www.30gurus.com
