Breathe pairs our enhanced sober living featuring spiritual and life skills development, with a Relational Trauma Healing track at the clinic level.
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 27, 2013
Combining the latest and most successful treatment methodologies with an all-star staff of experts in addiction and trauma healing, Breathe Life Healing Centers opens its doors with locations in New York and Los Angeles with Brad Lamm, Renowned Interventionist as President, Tian Dayton, PhD. as Director of Clinical Programming, and Deborah Hughes as CEO
Founder, Board-Registered Interventionist and best selling author Brad Lamm is the architect of the family-centered, spirit based philosophy behind the treatment offered. Breathe pairs an enhanced sober living environment, featuring spiritual development and life skills development, with a Relational Trauma Healing track at the clinic level by psychology and trauma recovery icon Tian Dayton, Ph.D. who will serve as the Director of Clinical Programming for both locations.
Breathe Life Healing Center, is now New York City's premier renewal program for those seeking a better life. Brad and co-founder Rev. Michael Ingersoll have crafted a dynamic 90-day spirit-based program leading guests to change as they transition from self-harm to self-discovery through highly personalized Life Skills Workshops. After a well-received start in New York, Breathe LA opens September 2013 in Beverly Hills.
“Brad is a natural innovator and proponent of treating the whole person,” said Dayton. “I have long advocated that trauma is at the core of many self-harming behaviors, including primary food addiction. I've spent my career integrating psychodrama and sociometry with research on interpersonal neurobiology and attachment. I've created a focused therapeutic model that is both intrapersonal and interpersonal in order to make experiential healing, which has become the therapy of choice for trauma, tangible and accessible. Breathe Life Healing Center is a place where that hope and help come alive along with a necessary attention to the spiritual aspect of recovery.”
With 41 beds total – eleven in New York City and thirty in Los Angeles – Breathe accommodates guests after acute detox and psychological assessment for long term treatment, up to as many as 12 months depending on guest needs. With 24-hour staff coverage and varying levels of qualifications in behavioral health at the house and clinic, the schedule includes communal dining with a focus on nutrition, daily group meditation, yoga and a robust physical activity program.
Dr. Dayton’s clinical program features our proprietary four-day a week Relational Trauma Healing track in a full-day schedule. Services consist of individual and group counseling, medication monitoring, treatment goals and strategic recovery planning, and reparative family and relationship therapy, which makes up the clinical day programming. Breathe focuses on guests with chemical dependency, anxiety and/or depression, and obesity related recovery. Infusing life at Breathe, is a non-faith-based emphasis on the spiritual side of recovery tailored to each guest.
“After participating in over one thousand interventions in my work as an interventionist, I have worked with a number of long term rehab facilities, which I would hand-pick to fit each client’s needs and geographic circumstances,” said founder Brad Lamm. “Over time I have seen that certain practices and techniques are particularly effective and can increase someone’s chances of success in their recovery. I have often dreamed of combining those elements under one roof. Today that has become a reality as we open Breathe. A unified program that creates community and recovery in remarkable ways.”
Looking to bring the most inventive thinking and practices of the last 30 years into its curriculum, Lamm recruited renowned trauma psychologist Tian Dayton as Director of Clinical Programming to launch her just-developed relational trauma healing track at Breathe’s day clinic level. Widely known as the prime mover of psychodrama, Dayton is a best selling author who galvanized the field of behavioral health with her research and clinical development relating self-harming behavior to prior life trauma.
Incoming CEO Deb Hughes comes to Breathe with a dynamic background in program and business development, strategic planning, and a tremendous foresight on execution and expansion. Her experience with dual-diagnosis, eating disorder treatment, adolescent and adult programming, as well as a deep working knowledge of business development, transitional living, outpatient treatment programs and IOP services provides her the opportunity to make an unsurpassed difference in the lives of Breathe guests. “This is such a profound opportunity for Breathe Life Healing Centers to shift the paradigm of how wounded people heal their lives and those of their families,” says Hughes. “By implementing our Phases of Change curriculum, people are afforded the chance to remake their lives and find a new way of living.”
Breathe co-founder Rev. Michael Ingersoll inspires a spiritual dynamic that meets each guest, employee, partner and colleague where they are while encouraging a deeper discovery of the spiritual force that reassures change, healing, and awareness. “Through this wakefulness comes a call to action, which fills the programs with a sense of desire to inspire change through faith, as it is defined by each person.”
The flagship office and corporate headquarters are located in New York City, where the first Breathe Life Healing Center thrives in NYC’s beautiful Gramercy Park neighborhood. In Los Angeles, Breathe Life Health Center homes are located just north of Sunset Boulevard in Laurel Canyon, with the Clinic on Sunset Boulevard.
