We are very excited about the unique artwork in this year’s auction and are grateful that such world-renowned artists have generously agreed to participate.

New York, NY (PRWEB) October 02, 2012

The Children’s Cancer and Blood Foundation (CCBF) is proud to be hosting its fifth annual Contemporary Art Auction on Tuesday, October 16th at Bonhams New York from 6 to 9 pm. The evening will feature after-hours access to Bonhams, a cocktail reception and the opportunity to browse and bid on CCBF's beautiful collection of paintings, photographs and sculptures. Proceeds support the clinical care of children with cancer and blood disorders, cutting edge research to understand the causes of these diseases and a fellowship training program in pediatric hematology and oncology.

Foundation chairperson Les J. Lieberman spoke appreciatively of the artists, “We are very excited about the unique artwork in this year’s auction and are grateful that such world-renowned artists have generously agreed to participate. The money raised from this art auction will help us to ensure that all of our patients receive care regardless of their ability to pay.”

The upcoming auction promises once again to be a unique opportunity to purchase exciting works by leading contemporary artists. As all artwork has been donated by the artists, acquisitions will be free of sales tax and buyer’s premium, allowing proceeds to go directly to CCBF. Buyers need not be present to bid and can place pre- and absentee-bids by visiting http://www.childrenscbf.org, calling 212.297.4336 or emailing artauction (at) childrenscbf (dot) org.

Highlights of the CCBF’s 2012 Contemporary Art Auction include Andy Warhol’s Still-Life Flower, 1956, a work in ink on Strathmore paper, estimated at $14,000; Tianbing Li’s Enfant Vert, 2010, a watercolor estimated at $15,000; and a classic Richard Serra work, Level IV, 2010 estimated at $10,000. Auction highlights will be displayed in Bonhams’ front window on Madison Avenue beginning Wednesday, October 10th.
