It wasn’t until 1989 that the world officially adopted the principles and ideologies laid out by the UN’s Declaration of the Rights of the Child, a document written in 1959 to ensure that all children are given access to food, shelter, medicine and education. Today, programs like CDI College’s Early Childhood Education program train educators to provide children with the developmental support they need to succeed.

“At CDI, our Early Childhood Education students learn to work with children in a way that is respectful and inspirational,” says Bohdan Bilan, VP of Academics for CDI College. “A child’s development relies greatly on the quality of care they receive. Children who are well-fed, happy and healthy are more likely to learn and retain things they are taught.”

CDI’s Early Childhood Education program gives students the skills and training they’ll need to work in daycares, family resource centres and preschools. Many teaching techniques are covered, including music and art methods, storytelling and language development.

Early Childhood Educators are increasingly important for childhood development as more parents head back to work. Those interested in pursuing a career working with children can find out more at http://www.cdicollege.ca. You can also interact with CDI College on Facebook and Twitter.
